Why is Writing for Children Considered an Art Form?
Writing for children is a very important and valuable art form, even though it is not always regarded as such.
A person who writes for children uses creative imagery as an art form, just like any other artist. The difference is that the imagery is formed from words.
To become a truly successful artist with respect to writing for children, there are three things that are absolutely essential. These include the love of children, the love of creative imagery and the love of writing.
Why is the love of children so important?
Children know when they are loved! They can sense it in the words that are written and the thoughts that are conveyed to them in word form. Love also becomes evident in the creative imagery that they can relate to, even before they can understand words fully.
Those who write for children, generally love to write and writing for children has its own special rewards. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing the expression on the face of a child who understands something that has been written for him or her!
